Night & Lights

As a creative, I think it is really important to feed the 'creative beast' inside me so to speak. And that means going outside the realms of my own genre to explore, experience and learn from. Even better so when I have a buddy to share the experience with...

My friend Darryl.

My friend Darryl.

Darryl and I go way back during the good old times of late night rock n' roll pub crawling while I was still finding my feet - photographing bands (did I mention I have a website dedicated to my music photography?). As I left the music scene to build my business, a catch up was long overdue. So I thought, why not combine the two and do din dins and photo walks around the city!?! Superb. So here is a series of random imagery explorations, each with their own ability to develop into numerous projects and themes. It may seem a little random and far different from my usual style but I love what they represent; raw creativity. And this is why I love my craft. Oh, and hanging out with Daz was a scream as always (check out his work here and here).

Docklands Winter Fireworks

Thought I'd share some pyrotechnic eye candy from the Docklands Winter Fireworks which I took last year - which I finally got around to processing. I highly recommend you to head out to the Docklands between Jul-Aug this winter to check them out every Friday at 7.30pm.

In my personal opinion, Docklands has earned itself a pretty bad rep for being a deserted part of the city, however, I reckon from sunset through to nightfall, it is one of the prettiest places to visit (with camera in tow of course!) and soak in all the colours, lights and glistening waters. And even during the day, I have seen some pretty awesome things like jellyfish floating by in the water by the swarms and if you want to find a place to relax in the city without the hustle and bustle, Docklands is actually the perfect spot. So go on, head down this winter and check out the pretty fireworks because really.... who doesn't like fireworks?
