ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Lydia and here is little bit about me.
I love life. I love photography. But I also love a lot of love for other things like archery, cars, music, food, etc.
I grew up in Singapore where my parents still reside and I like to think that I am more Melburnian than most born and bred Melburnians. I attended film school back in Singapore and pursuing my Bachelors degree in Media Studies (and then Masters in Advertising) is what brought me to Melbourne many moons ago.
My approach to photography is similar to my approach to life - I follow my heart and my instincts. I guess that is why I love creating images that mean more than just pretty pictures. I think the years of subscribing to National Geographic magazine has something to do with my journalistic approach to photography. In fact one of my childhood ambitions was to become a photographer for them.
Two years ago I did the cliche thing and decided to leave my corporate life to pursue a creative career in photography and I haven’t looked back since. I still get excited the night before a shoot and I still get emotional when a groom sees his bride for the first time.
TEAMING UP WITH ME
I’ll be the first to admit that being in front of a camera can be daunting (which is probably why I’m behind it instead!). Yet when we work together, my main focus is on ensuring you are relaxed and at ease with the process and shooting environment.
Plus, that way I’ll be able to capture you at your best!
My style of shooting is relaxed, fun and natural, with minimal touch-ups and almost exclusive to natural light and on location shoots.
I am a sucker for a good love story, hence why I have been drawn to the storytelling style of wedding photography. But besides that, I also love photographing other worldly things and you can view my other work, here and there.
